With the expectation from customers today that you’re able to offer the option to reserve and book storage units online via your website, either through your own set up or from a dedicated software solution like the Booking Portal from Kinnovis<\/a>, you’ve likely spent time ensuring that your online booking funnel isn’t holding anyone back.<\/p style=\"font-size:22px;line-height:1.6\">\n\n\n\n

For the most part, booking a self-storage unit online will consist of the following steps:<\/p style=\"font-size:22px;line-height:1.6\">\n\n\n\n

  1. Choose your facility location.<\/li>
  2. Choose your unit size.<\/li>
  3. Add any additional services like Insurance or Packing Supplies.<\/li>
  4. Select your move-in date.<\/li>
  5. Add your contact details.<\/li>
  6. Save card details for all future payments.<\/li>
  7. Receive confirmation that your booking has been successfully received.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Without this information, it can be hard to class a reservation as more than a lead. That doesn’t mean that there aren’t solutions to bypass some of these steps, however.<\/p style=\"font-size:22px;line-height:1.6\">\n\n\n\n

    Thanks to a key feature within our 3D storage size guide, when you set up a calculator for one of your locations, not only can you add the exact dimensions for each unit size at that facility, but you can also include a custom URL link that lets customers jump straight to reserving that unit size. <\/p style=\"font-size:22px;line-height:1.6\">\n\n\n\n

    In short, they can bypass steps 1 & 2 in the online booking flow.<\/p style=\"font-size:22px;line-height:1.6\">\n\n\n\n

    For your potential customers, this should lead to a better user experience. As they’ve already shown which facility they’re interested in, by selecting that calculator, and they now know what size unit they need, based on the calculator’s recommendation, there’s no need for them to re-submit this information in your booking flow.<\/p style=\"font-size:22px;line-height:1.6\">\n\n\n\n

    For you, once this has been set up, you should find more people are getting further along your online booking funnel – following the digital mantra that fewer clicks equal fewer drop-offs.<\/p style=\"font-size:22px;line-height:1.6\">\n\n\n\n

    We’ve made setting this up really straightforward as well. Firstly, follow the steps on your own website’s booking portal, as if you were reserving a particular unit size from a location. When you’ve reached the right page, save the URL. <\/p style=\"font-size:22px;line-height:1.6\">\n\n\n\n

    Once you’ve completed that step and signed up to Calcumate<\/a>: <\/p style=\"font-size:22px;line-height:1.6\">\n\n\n\n

    1. Within the calculator builder, follow the steps to section 2, Units<\/strong>.<\/li>
    2. Select Edit Unit <\/strong>and give it a Unit Name<\/strong>, height<\/strong>, width<\/strong> and depth<\/strong>.<\/li>
    3. Under URL to reserve (optional)<\/strong>, paste the URL that you’d saved previously from your own website.<\/li>
    4. Save the unit.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n
